The myth of vampires has become integral to folklore, especially in the horror genre. Stories of vampires are one of the best ways to frighten yourself and your loved ones this Halloween season. But are these stories just myths or have vampires existed at any point in the history of mankind? Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel presented to the world the evil Count Dracula has become the most famous vampire over a century after Stoker’s death. Born Abraham Stoker on November 8th, 1847, Stoker would later become a renowned author in the supernatural fiction genre even though he also wrote romance novels. While working for the famous stage actor, Henry Irving, Stoker got to meet with U.S presidents William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt.
